Bee Pollen

Details

Antioxidants

Who could know the health benefits of bee pollen better than a bee? When bees help themselves to nectar so they can make honey, they coat their legs with pollen in the process. This bee pollen is collected when they return to the hive where they have to pass through a screen to get back into the hive. This screen gently scraps the pollen of their legs as they pass through it and it will then drop into a collection tray for our use.

Cedar Leaf Tips

Cedar is native to North America, and was once used by the Native Americans to create canoes, earning it the title “Canoewood”. It was later affectionately nicknamed “Arbor Vitae”, a French term for Tree of Life, after supposedly curing one of Jacques Cartier’s men of Scurvy during a 16th century expedition. As a result, Thuja occidentalis was imported to Europe for its medicinal properties, but now is primarily viewed as an ornamental tree. Today, it is mainly used in homeopathy for acute and chronic infections of the upper respiratory tract.

Damiana Leaf

Details

Damiana is a small shrub reaching a height of 4 to 6 feet (1-2 meters), bearing sweet-smelling, serrated leaves growing 4 to 10 inches (10-25 cm) long. Small, yellow flowers bloom in summer and are followed by small fruits with a fig-like taste. The Mayas used damiana as an aphrodisiac, but more specifically as a remedy for "giddy" love. The herb was considered more important for focusing sexual energies than for creating them. Damiana has been popularly used across the Southwestern United States and Mexico as an aphrodisiac and for asthma, bronchitis, neurosis, diabetes, dysentery, dyspepsia, headaches, paralysis, nephrosis, spermatorrhea, stomachache, and syphilis. The current edition of the British Herbal Pharmacopoeia recommends the herb for "anxiety neurosis with a predominant sexual factor, depression, nervous dyspepsia, atonic constipation, and coital inadequacy."
